The site where is established the school is on the edge of the village of Fléchy and stands next to its wine-growing and agricultural zone. This part of territory acts like a transitional space between the built environment and the natural environment. This first one, shaped by the isolated volumes of houses and vineyards halls, punctuates the natural environment up to the limits established by the vines’ lines and the cultivated fields’ lines. Or maybe is it the opposite, vines and cultivations come up to the limits established by the houses.
It is always curious to observe, in the Lake Geneva region, the result of this power relation between construction zones and agricultural zones. This project rises from the reflection on this equivocal space where artifice and nature meet. It seeks to work with this ambiguity, by creating an object – by definition artificial – in which its limits disappear, imbued and in symbiosis with nature.
