这是 MA2 为新台北艺术博物馆建筑竞赛提交的作品。设计的概念是基于协同作用，把两个或多个组件结合起来以生成一整套的运行部件。组件由代表空间与功能的流体模型生成，但被附着在其它组件上以生成结构、封体、膜以及多种类型的建筑片以构造建筑的主体。
Fluid Synergies – The flux formation of dynamic tectonics for a Conceptual Art Museum in the New Taipei City.
A New City Museum of Art is transformed by architectural viscosity in motion for vigorous effects, display, city viewing, and artistic preservation.
Synergy – is the combination of two or more things that creates an effect which is greater than the sum of both separately.
Fluidity – Viscosity
The architectural formation is brought together by a collection of dynamic components and membranes that assemble to create multifunctional surfaces and structures harmonized by fluid patterns inspired by flowing water and air. By using nature as a point of departure, the organization and architectural formation envelopes layers of valiant complexity that give rise to new possibilities. Flowing water has properties which posses various degrees of sensation based on environment and flow intensities. The New City Art Museum is a proposal which contains various spaces and intensities with a fluid circulation pattern and structure. This invites the visitor to follow the flow of the building and experience art in various moments of overlapping boundaries.
Air and wind bring to the project influence of lightness and an aerodynamic body of fluid trajectories. Transforming a massive building into a play of fluid forms and moments of lightness is the object behind the proposal. Spaces are lifted up to bring in ventilation and shade, natural light is used to illuminate the interior and provide energy to the south facing facade covered in Photovoltaic Panels. These are techniques which help with the scheme of using natural elements to govern the design and add performance to its overall formal body. Displaying art within these walls and surfaces enables the viewer to have a consistent reference of natural elements and city presence.
The design concept is based from synergies that are the combination of two or more components to generate a sum of operational parts. Components are generated by fluid models for spatial and functional purposes, but are attached to others to create structure, envelopes, membranes, and a diverse range of pieces to construct an architectural body with presence, elegance, and dynamism.
Thermal Ambience and Energy
The architectural body contains layers of structure and surfaces constructed from triangulated pieces and octagonal frames. These layers of structure allow for a gradient effect of flowing form and performance. By having such pieces, opportunities develop in which wall, ceiling, and floor can be one. This allows spaces to open with large volumes for ventilation, light filtration, and energy conservation. Throughout the museum, there are structural tubing in which MEP are inserted allowing a consistent flow of air and water based from natures pattern rather than rigid forms. A constant flow of air, water, light, space, and tectonics construct energy efficiency by allowing nature to be an active participant in the organizational structure. In addition, the exterior at certain points along the path of walls, have sprinklers to shower mist for evaporative cooling effects. This is placed near the outdoor sculpture garden, entrance lobby, and crystalline lounge.
The Art Museum contains three floors and a sculpture garden. The initial approach to the building is actualized by the lifted form creating a span of open shaded space for displaying outdoor sculpture. As one enters into the main lobby, there is a large open envelope of structure and glass creating a space of grandeur. As one proceeds to the higher levels, there are curved walls which direct the circulation path and allow the viewer to discover the complexity of the building and art. The galleries are generally open, connected by escalators and bridges bringing together a diverse program of exhibition rooms, café, bookstore, theater, and urban resonance.
Crystalline Exhibition Hall – Constructed by poly-valiant structures for creating an intense space of activity, penetrated with natural light and structural crystalline gradient logic.
Theater – The Theater is an open space with a LED flat screen for high resolution viewing. The seating emerges from metallic floor panels, creating a morphing effect.
Reception – A large envelope of gradient structure, panels, and LED light nodes, creates an atmospheric ambiance of resilient formal viscosity.
Gallery Bridge – A bridge of display utilizing natural filtered light, illuminates galleries and sculpture along a dynamic path.
